A Letter to My Readers: Why I Write About Love

Dear Beautiful Readers,
Every time I open a blank page, I take a deep breath and ask myself the same question: Why love again? Why write another story about two people meeting, clashing, connecting, and, against all odds, choosing each other?
For me, love is not just the theme of what I write. It is the heartbeat. It is the reason I write at all. Maybe I'm just getting older, or maybe this is just a particularly soppy week, but let me tell you all about why I write about love.

Love is the most universal story we have
No matter where we come from, what we have lost, or who we have become, love finds us. It changes us. It reminds us that we are still capable of softness in a world that often asks us to be hard.
Love is the language we all speak without ever having to translate. It lives in the way someone looks at another person when they think no one is watching. It lives in the choice to stay, to try, to forgive.
When I write about love, I am really writing about connection. About being seen, truly seen, and still being chosen. That is what moves me most. That is what I want you to feel when you read my stories.
Because love is never perfect, and that is why it is beautiful
The kind of love I write about is not polished or flawless. It is messy. It is real. It is two people trying to make sense of themselves and of each other, stumbling, learning, and still reaching for hope.
I have always been drawn to that moment when someone who has been hurt, guarded, and bruised decides to let another person in. It is such a small decision, but it changes everything.
My characters often come to me at their breaking points: tired, scared, uncertain. As I write them into love, I am reminded that we are all capable of healing too. Writing their journeys helps me understand my own heart a little better each time.
Because I believe love is hope
The world can be heavy. We are all carrying something. Loss, grief, fear, loneliness.
But love, in all its forms, is proof that light always finds a way in.
Romance novels are often called escapism, but to me they are resilience. They whisper, You can start again. You can be seen again. You can love again.
That is what I hope my books offer you. A soft place to land. A reminder that no matter how dark the moment feels, there is always a spark waiting to be found.
Love stories help us live braver

Every reader who has ever written to tell me that a story made them cry, smile, or remember what falling in love feels like is the reason I write.
Romance is not just fantasy. It is courage. It is the act of daring to believe in something fragile but powerful.
Maybe, when you read a line that feels true, it reminds you of something you once felt, or hope to feel again.
Books let us practice being brave with our hearts. They let us hope safely, fall safely, and heal safely. That is the quiet magic of love stories.
I write for you and with you
When I sit down to write, I am not only telling my story. I am writing ours.
For the reader who needs a reminder that love is not over for them. For the one who has been betrayed but still believes. For the one who is building a new version of themselves and wondering if someone will ever fit into it.
I see you. I write for you. Every character I create, every broken heart I mend on the page, carries a little piece of that shared hope.
My promise to you
I will always write about love in all its colors, its risks, and its quiet acts of courage. I will keep giving you stories where people find their way back to themselves through each other. Where love is both a choice and a chance. Where hope wins.
Because I truly believe that love, messy and imperfect and unguarded, is the bravest thing any of us can choose.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading. For trusting me with your time, your tears, your laughter, and your belief in happy endings. You are the reason I sit at my desk every day and write.
Here is to many more stories, many more hearts, and the endless, extraordinary power of love.
With all my heart, Eve x
