Wrong place. Wrong time. Right person.

The first thing Carly does is proposition him. 

​

Not hint. Not wait around for him to make the first move. 

She looks at this huge, grubby guy in the bar and decides, for once in her life, to step spectacularly out of line.

Rig, to his credit, barely blinks. 

​

“You interested?” he rumbles, two dimples denting his cheeks. Then he adds, “You’re curious.” 

​

And she is.  

​

Because people talk. 

​

In hindsight, that’s probably the moment everything starts going wrong. 

​

Carly just doesn’t know that yet. 

​

Because Rig is supposed to be a distraction. A man with no promises and no future attached. 

​

Instead, he starts fixing things. 

​

Cabinets. Leaky faucets. The general disaster of her apartment. 

​

Then, annoyingly, he starts fixing things she never asked him to touch. 

​

Looking back, Carly will probably realize she fell in love with him in that very first moment, Rig saying next to nothing but so fucking amused, but it takes her a little while to work that out.
