We got Daisy as a kitten and she was the runt of the litter. At six weeks, she was half the size she was supposed to be, having never managed to get enough milk from her mother to grow. So when her new human owners gave her plenty of food, she became very attached to us. Most days she doesn't let us out of her sight, and she either sleeps on the desk or on someone's knee.
This is often my view while I'm writing or editing, and of course I had to put cats in The Refusal, I'm a cat lady after all! They only have a small role in The Refusal, but maybe they'll come back later in the series.
